As a part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission) announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the civic bodies at all cities are vested with the responsibility of working in hand with the NGOs and organisations and spread the word of 'Cleanliness' at ward levels. Coimbatore Corporation has been organizing campaigns and awareness programmes to persuade people to practice cleanliness and keep their premise neat and clean.
Today, employees of Sri Kumaran Thanga Maaligai and The Chennai Silks, Coimbatore participated in a cleanup drive at Raja Street, Oppanakkara Street, Vyshyal Street and Prakasham Bus stop.

More than 50 employees took part in this clean-up drive. Plastic covers, bottles and dumped wastes on the streets and pavements were cleared during this drive. The drive started early this morning before the busy streets catch up to their routines. The streets wore a complete fresh look after the wastes were eliminated.
