Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board cash counters to collect bills

People can pay water bills at cash counters in all sub-division offices of Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) following demonetization of high-value notes.

The BWSSB kiosks need to be recalibrated to accept new Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 notes, a process that will take two weeks. To avoid inconvenience to people, BWSSB will accept water bill payments at its sub-division offices.

The cash counters will be open from 8 am to 12.30 pm on working days. Cash payments will be recorded in a ledger. The collection report includes details of the name of the sub-division, RR no., bill no. and collection. Old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes will not be accepted.

All the sub-division assistant executive engineers have been directed to take necessary measures for the collection of cash from the customers, including security and remittance of the daily collection to designated bank branches.
