Senior leader of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party and Dr. Munisamy Thambidurai the deputy speaker of the Loksabha has said that there is no opposition to Sasikala in the party. When speaking to the press at the Coimbatore airport he said, “I have requested Sasikala who has taken the responsibility as the AIADMK party's general secretary to take charge as chief minister of Tamil Nadu. The government and the party leadership should be in the same hands. This has been the tradition.” He has said that Sasikala has to become chief minister.
He added that “Sasikala is the only person who can fulfil the thoughts of Jayalalitha as a party member I have requested Sasikala to become Chief Minister. There is no opposition in the party for Sasikala to become CM. The party cadres also wish the same. AIDMK ministers and managers of the party also wish the same.”
When asked about the demand made by Stalin leader of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party from O. Pannerselvam to express his views about the wishes of the party members that Sasikala should become the CM, he said that opposition leaders will always have something to say. He also asked whether Stalin has raised any questions when his father was the chief of the party and the also was the chief minister.
He also refused to answer the questions on using the parliament letter pad to give the letter of support to Sasikala and the floating of Deepa Peravai by some AIADMK members. AIDMK party members said that he is on a personal visit and will return to Chennai this evening.
