Selvaraj owns a textile mill located in Naduppalayam near Sulur. Four days ago Sharajudeen (21) from Assam and Indu (20) from Kumbakonam joined this mill as labourers. They informed the owner that they are husband and wife.
It has been reported that the duo did not report to work today. Following this one of the staff employed in this mill was sent to their residence. He found that Indu strangled to death with a cloth. The mill employee immediately informed Selvaraj about the incident who in turn alerted the Sulur police.
A police team lead by the Assistant Commissioner Krishnamoorthy of Karumathampatty police station rushed to the location along with forensic expert Abdul Jaffer. They inspected the room in which the woman was staying and was reportedly murdered. Police are searching for Sharajudeen who was staying with Indu. The body was sent to the Coimbatore General Hospital for post-mortem.
