Coimbatore collector T. N. Hariharan distributed scholarships to students who have secured district ranks in the board examinations during the last academic year. The award money for the students of backward community who have secured district ranks in board examinations was presented by the Coimbatore district collector during a function that was hosted at the Collector office today.
J. Kiran Pranesh and P. Yuvashree were presented a scholarship of Rs.3000 and Rs. 2000 respectively in form of a cheque. Also, scholarships were distributed to 308 students under the rural girl child education scheme through the Periyanaickenpalayam assistant primary education officer. About Rs.1,84,000 was distributed under this scheme and also Rs. 50,000 was provided as scholarships.
