Sixth edition of International Conference, ICCCI- 2017 that is hosted by Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology was inaugurated today. This event has become a hallmark event of technology and research in the region. The inauguration function of this international conference was hosted at the college auditorium this morning.
The aim of the conference is to provide an outstanding opportunity to both academic and industrial communities to accept new flourishing trends and challenges with a vision to develop foster communication among researchers and practitioners working with common interest. About 782 research papers were received on the theme and the sub-theme of this conference and around 124 papers will be presented at this international conference.

During the inaugural session of this conference, Principal, Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Dr. C. Natrajan welcomed the gathering. Dr. S. Thangavelu, Chairman, Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology addressed the gathering on the importance of Internet Of Things (IOT) in meeting the demands of the downtrodden especially in agriculture and control of water resources.
Rajan Parasuraman, Managing Director, Gyanmatrix introduced the team IOT and described the technology of augmented reality. He explained the potential of this technology in healthcare, fashion and agriculture. He also highlighted the business statistics in terms of number of downloads and annual turnover.
Jyothi Lakshmi Pulicheria, Senior Executive, Virtusa Polaris spoke on the importance of communication, updating and measuring one’s skills. She insisted that updating our technical skills is what keeps the IT industry going. She also explained how measuring our skills would help in improving our performance in the industry.
Kathiravan Velusamy, team lead, IBM software India stressed that the management of career and personal life would enhance the effectiveness of every individual. He motivated the audience to inculcate a habit that occupies both physical and mental abilities to a great extent without expecting monetary benefits.
The ICCCI 2017 conference proceedings was released by the chief guest and was received by all the dignitaries, Dr. S. Prakash, Head, Department of Information Technology, Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology, proposed the vote of thanks Following this, the keynote address was delivered by Kathiravan Velusamy.
