Following shut down in Palakkad no movement of essentials and passengers


Radhakrishnan a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) party cadre from Kanjikode in Palakkad district of Kerala was killed when the gas cylinder in his home exploded when a petrol bomb was hurled at his home. Following this incident, the BJP in Kerala has called for a district wide shutdown in Palakkad.

Life and trade has been impacted in this district due to this shutdown. Buses operated from Tamil Nadu to Kerala are halted at Walayar. Bus travellers are impacted as all the buses from Tamil Nadu to Kerala have been cancelled. The Ukkadam bus station in Coimbatore looked deserted. Essential goods like milk, eggs, meat, vegetables are transported to Kerala from Tamil Nadu through Palakkad every day. Following the shutdown in Palakkad, vehicles carrying goods are halted on the Tamil Nadu border.
