Residents of CMC colony protest demanding regular supply of drinking water

More than 200 sanitary workers of the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) live in the CMC colony that is located near the Variety Hall (VH) road. It has been reported that this colony does not receive regular supply of drinking water. Angry residents of this colony, as a mark of protest today blocked the VH road.

One of the protesting residents stated that the corporation is providing water only once in fifteen days and a majority of times, this colony receives its supply of drinking water during the nights.

A verbal war of words broke between the residents of this colony and officials. However, the protestors were pacified after the officials assured them that the needful will be done to regularise drinking water supply to this colony.

Following this protest the VH road remained tense for sometime.
