Apart from celebrating Pongal at their houses, the 'Best Peoples Colony Association' comprising of residents of Ward No:3, Subramaniapalayam, GN Mills hosted 'Samuthuva Pongal' at their colony.
Barring all caste, creed and religion the people of this residential colony joined hands to host the festival of Pongal in a traditional way. Dressed in traditional attire, the Children, women, men and senior citizens of this colony were all seen enthusiastically rendering their contribution for the conduct of this event.

This morning, the residents prepared Pongal dish through traditional mud pots and offered to the residents. The entire colony was decorated very colorfully with rangoli, sugarcanes and decorative papers.


The inspiring speech by the children on the age-old tradition behind the celebration of the four-day long Pongal festival along with their traditional dances like Kolattam received a thunderous response from the viewers.
The event was organised by the association President, Mohanraj and Secretary, Kumaravel. 'This is the 12th consecutive year that 'Best Peoples Colony Association' is celebrating Pongal with all it's residents. Our association also has plans of conducting social awareness programmes from this year on wards', said one of the organizers.
