Rotary Club of Coimbatore installs AED device at Coimbatore Cosmopolitan Club.

An automated external defibrillator (AED) is considered to be one of the most devices to revive patients suffering from sudden cardiac arrests. Through stimulating electronic shock waves, the AEDs help to re-establish the heart with an effective rhythm.

In the past the Rotary Club of Coimbatore, as a part of their signature project 'save a life' has installed nine AED devices in various public places in the city like railway stations, airport, bus terminus, old-age homes, malls, court complex etc., Recently, the club installed it's 10th AED at the Coimbatore Cosmopolitan Club on Race Course road in order to benefit the people and the walkers around the race course area.

The inauguration took place in the presence of Rtn Marappan, Assistant Governor, Rotary Dist 3201 and B Vijay Venkatasamy, President, Coimbatore Cosmopolitan Club.

Gurpreet Singh, President, Rotary club of Coimbatore, Rtn Ram Kumar, Secretary, K S Balakrishnan, Project Chairman, Rtn K Balasubramaniyan, Project co-chairman among other members of two clubs participated in the inaugural function.

The basic set of instructions that needs to be followed and the operation of the device was detailed to the members who were present during the AED installation event. AEDs are designed in such a way that they can be used by non-tech savvy people too. Even those who fail to understand simple instructions will be able to take advantage of this user-friendly device.

Through their 'Train the saver' project, regular camps to educate the common man on the use of the AED machines are continually been conducted by the club.

Unquestionably, these life-saving AED machines play a very crucial role in extending one's life during a critical point.
