TNSTC, RTO CBE and Sri Krishna institutions to host week-long road safety awareness programmes.


The Tamil Nadu State Transport Department, Regional Transport Offices (RTO), Coimbatore and Sri Krishna Institutions, Coimbatore jointly organized the 28th Road Safety Awareness programme, today. 

The event was flagged off today at the college today in the presence of Malarvizhi, Chairperson and Managing Trustee of Sri Krishna Institutions, RTO’s Munusamy (South), Mani (West), Udayakumar (Central), Karthikeyan (North) along with RTO officials and Police departments, Dr.K.Sundararaman CEO of Sri Krishna Institutions, Principals Dr.A.Ramesh, Dr.J.Janet, Professors, and many others took part in the inauguration programme.

The RTO Offices in Coimbatore District will be this celebrating a week-long awareness programme starting from today up to 23rd January 2017. The theme for the awareness week is “Your Services Your Family, Be Cautious on Road.”



The road safety awareness week was formally flagged-off today at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology. The Chairperson and Managing trustee of the institution released a road safety guide to the participants. Stickers emphasising on road  safety was pasted in the passing-by vehicles. 

Following which a rally was also conducted by the students who carried placards with messages indicating on road safety. The rally which commenced from the college premise went through Kovaipudur Pirivu, B.K. Pudur and ended again at the start point.



Owners of the driving institutes, trainers, drivers, professors, government officials and the public participated in the rally. The participants raised slogans emphasising on the importance of road safety, safe driving at a nominal speed, driving without the influence of alcohol, abiding traffic rules, not to overtake, giving importance to the signals, one-way etc.,

After the end of the rally, all the training institute instructors, trainers and drivers were given a briefing session by the RTO officers on the ways and techniques to be adopted to educate the new learners about road safety.



The week long programme will have a medical checkup for the public tomorrow at the Ramakrishna Marriage Hall, New Siddhapudur hosted by the Sri Ramakrishna Hospital. As part of the awareness programme, the students of Sri Krishna Institutions will be organizing a awareness bike rally wearing helmets on 19th January. The rally will commence from the Government Women’s polytechnic to VOC Park grounds. 

On 20th January, various competitions like essay writing, elocution, poem writing and painting with themes on road safety for college students will also be hosted as a part of the awareness week at Sri Krishna College of Technology.

The RTO Offices will be organizing a pamphlet distribution event for the vehicle drivers on 21st January at all Toll Plaza’s and on 22nd January there will be an enforcement drive at various places by the RTO officials. 

The valedictory programme will be hosted at the Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Kuniamuthur, Coimbatore in which prizes will be distributed to the winners of the competitions.
