CCMC kick-starts preliminary work of new bus terminus at Vadavalli.


Responding to the long-pending plea of the residents of Vadavalli and as a part of their comprehensive encroachment drive, Corporation Commissioner Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan, promised a new bus terminus at the Vadavalli bus stop, within a short span of time. The present terminus pose a congested look along with severe parking issues of buses at the juncture. 



On 6th January, 2017, the Corporation commissioner Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan along with a team of officials inspected the present Vadavalli bus terminus and passed orders to survey the ear-marked area for expansion and also to clear off all the encroachments including shops and the old toilets at the entrance of this terminus, which has actually shrunk the space of the terminus leading to day long congestion. 

In connection to the proposal, this morning, the preparatory works for the construction of a bus terminus at Vadavalli commenced. 

'The preliminary work for construction of a new bus terminus at Vadavalli has commenced. AS per orders, corporation officials removed the shops, offices and an old unusable toilet along the encroached path were demolished using JCB. This new terminus will have sufficient space for the buses to exit and enter the terminus along with a covered waiting area for the passengers' CCMC, Special Officer, said.
