Jallikattu supporters at Coonoor conduct funeral procession for PETA.

The Jallikattu supporters at Coonoor today garnered the attention of the whole mass of people in the city as they took PETA through a funeral procession.

Raising intense slogans in support of Jallikattu, the supporters carried the procession through the main streets of Coonoor and showed their agitation. Condemning the allegation of PETA on Jallikattu as 'baseless and intentional' the supporters demanded a permanent solution for the issue and claimed the bull-taming sport as a mark of their culture and tradition.

Despite being a weekend, the tourist city wore a deserted look as the trade unions, tourist taxi unions and educational institutions shut their operations in support for Jallikattu.
