'Supporters need not fear, ordinance is the permanent solution for Jallikattu', clarifies TN Chief Minister

Undeniably, the millions of supporters of Jallikattu across the state of Tamil Nadu have created history by exhibiting utmost determination in the path of non-violence during their five-day-long protests at various parts of the State urging various pleas regarding conduct of Jallikattu.

Now, It's time for jubilation for all the supporters out there, as a green signal for conduct of their traditional bull-taming sport, Jallikattu has been given by the state government.

Despite, passing an ordinance for conduct of Jallikattu, the supporters are still determined to continue their protests, claiming it to be 'Too little, too late' as it's valid up to only six months. Speculations among the supporters persist if the ordinance is acceptable or just an eye-wash, yet again.

To the contrary, O. Paneerselvam, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has clarified the doubts of the supporters through his press statement by terming the ordinance as a 'permanent solution'.

He clarified that the Tamil Nadu government will pass a resolution to amend this ordinance into a law during the upcoming assembly meet. By doing so, a permanent solution for conduct of Jallikattu every year is assured, he said.

'Though, we have six months to amend this law, the Tamil Nadu government will not drag this issue so long instead a draft for passing the resolution will be done during the next assembly meet on 23rd, itself' Chief Minister said.

He also thanked the students, youth and public for conducting the protests in a collected manner and not to fear of banning Jallikattu in future as this ordinance is the permanent solution for conduct of Jallikattu.

He also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for guiding and expediting the process of passing ordinance.
