Tribals from Anaikatti support Jallikattu by burning effigy of Poorva Joshipura, CEO of PETA

PETA, a global animal welfare organisation which has its headquarters in California, USA has obtained a ban from the Supreme court against the conduct of Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu.

As protests have intensified for conduct of Jallikattu across the state, the tribal people who live in Alamaram road in Anaikatti today registered their voice supporting the conduct of Jallikattu.

In this regard, the tribal people burnt the effigy of Poorva Joshipura, CEO of PETA. The supporters created a fake dead body for PETA with slippers and conducted a funeral procession. At the end of the procession, they burnt the dead body made of slippers by pouring coke, kerosene and showed their agitation on PETA for banning Jallikattu.

They also warned that, 'It is unnecessary for PETA to ban and comment on our tradition. They should refrain from interfering in our values, otherwise they would face dire consequences' forewarned the supporters.
