Coimbatore: Coimbatore cyclists bagged a total of eight medals in the National Championship held at Jaipur and Pune between January 30 - February 13.

Around 46 cyclists from Tamil Nadu participated in the competition with a team of six cyclists M Sanjay Saravanan, K R Varshini, M Pooja Sweatha, M Srijith, Dharshan and Kesavraj from the Coimbatore District Cycling Association bringing laurels to the city by bagging 2 golds, 2 silvers and 4 bronze medals in their respective categories in the competition.

Sanjay Saravanan bagged a gold in the national track cycling championship, a silver medal in the national road cycling championship and a bronze in the school games track cycling championship. K R Varshini clinched a gold medal, Pooja Sweatha secured a silver medal while Srijith, Dharshan and Kesavraj bagged bronze medals in the school games track cycling championship held at Pune.

M Manickam, the President of Coimbatore District Cycling Association (CDCA), R Karana Boopathy, Vice president of CDCA and Secretary of CDCA J Krishnamoorthy congratulated the medalists.
