Coimbatore: The Hindustan College of Engineering and Technology lifted the trophy in the regional level football tournament for the 'CENTIES Trophy' hosted by the Coimbatore Institute of Technology, here in the city, on Wednesday.
Coimbatore: The Hindustan College of Engineering and Technology lifted the trophy in the regional level football tournament for the 'CENTIES Trophy' hosted by the Coimbatore Institute of Technology, here in the city, on Wednesday.

Around 22 engineering college teams from Coimbatore, Erode, Nilgiris and Tirupur region took part in the three-day tournament that kick-started on Monday. The tournament was conducted under a knock-out basis in which Hindustan College of Engineering and Technology and Nehru Institute of Engineering and Technology qualified for the finals.

In a high scoring match of 6 goals in total, Hindustan College sealed the opponent at 4-2 to claim the trophy. Though both the finalists showcased utmost skill and talent, the victors were brilliant enough to score 4 goals to lift the trophy.

Dr V Chelladurai, Principal of Coimbatore Institute of Technology and Dr Marimuthu, Deputy Warden were the chief guests at the prize distribution and awarded prizes to the winners of the tournament.
