Sunny beach was a beautiful experience, and bidding goodbye to it was bittersweet. Their stay at Sunny Beach was short but indeed relaxing. They stayed on until time could not be stretched any further and left only at 1:30 pm after getting Dhannu washed, for she needed her spa day too. Then, they started off towards Nessebar, a small town in Sunny Beach.

The old town of Nessebur is located 30km north of Burgas, on a small peninsula in the Black Sea, which is linked with the land only by a long and narrow isthmus. It is one of the oldest towns in Europe, founded around 3000 years B.C. by the Thracians. It is considered the town richest in architectural monuments from the Middle Ages in Bulgaria.

Even today, the old town has maintained its charm, along with a romantic air of the eras gone by. It is now a UNESCO world heritage site that has a few ruins which look straight out of a fairytale.

They walked around a bit, before they began another protracted journey of 450 kms, in order to reach Sofia . The weather had turned grey and rainy. A little before Sofia, there was another ancient town named Plovdiv. On reading up they found out that this was another town worth a visit. Unfortunately, it was still raining, so they could not see much of this beautiful town.

They reached Sofia around 8:30 pm and could not wait until dawn to explore this new city!
