Coimbatore's Nandhini Rangaswamy Appointed as Chairperson of CII Southern Region for 2024-25

Nandhini Rangaswamy of Chandra Textiles Pvt Ltd has been announced as the Chairperson of CII Southern Region for 2024-25, with Thomas John Muthoot of Muthoot Fincorp Ltd as the Deputy Chairman.


Coimbatore: In a significant development for the business community in the Southern Region, Nandhini Rangaswamy, the Managing Director of Chandra Textiles Pvt Ltd, has been officially named the Chairperson of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Southern Region for the fiscal year 2024-25.

Nandhini Rangaswamy's association with CII has been extensive and influential. Before her current appointment, she was the Deputy Chairperson of CII Southern Region for 2023-24 and has previously led the CII Tamil Nadu State Council as Chairperson during 2010-11. Her leadership roles have also included heading the CII's Education Sub-Committee in 2022-23 and serving as the Chairwoman of the CII Indian Women Network. In addition, she is a valued member of the CII National Council.

Beyond CII, Nandhini Rangaswamy contributes to various other significant roles. She serves on the board of the Cognizant Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Cognizant Technology Solutions, and is an Independent Director at the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDCO). She has also been a part of the Board of Governors for NIT, Tiruchirappalli.



Thomas John Muthoot, Chairman & Managing Director of Muthoot Fincorp Ltd, has been appointed as the Deputy Chairman of CII Southern Region for the year 2024-25. Muthoot’s active involvement with CII includes being an elected member of the CII Southern Regional Council and chairing various committees, such as the Banking & Financial Services and Tourism Sub-Committees. He also presides over the Muthoot Pappachan Group (MPG), a diversified conglomerate with a legacy extending over 135 years in trading, retail, and finance sectors.

These leadership appointments are expected to bring a wealth of experience and vision to the CII Southern Region, propelling the organization towards achieving new milestones in the upcoming year.
