Group Involved in Illegal Lottery Ticket Sales Arrested in Coimbatore

Coimbatore police apprehended a group selling banned lottery tickets from Kerala near Pattatharasiamman Temple, Thudiyalur. Vehicles were seized along with cash and devices; Rs. 18 lakhs frozen in the bank.


Coimbatore: In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, the Coimbatore police have arrested a group involved in the sale of lottery tickets, which are banned by the Tamil Nadu government. The arrests took place near the Pattatharasiamman Temple in the Vellakinar area between Thudiyalur and Saravanampatti.



During the investigation, the individuals identified as Vinod Kumar from G.N Mills area, Pradeep from Nallampalayam, Adish Kanna from Thudiyalur, and Satheesh Kumar from Vellakinar admitted to their involvement across various locations in Coimbatore. The police are currently seeking another suspect named Prabhu, who is absconding. The arrested individuals, all previously involved in various criminal cases in Coimbatore, were presented before a court and subsequently remanded to the Coimbatore Central Jail.
