Man Allegedly Beaten to Death at KMCH Hospital, Protest Demands Action

In a recent incident at KMCH Hospital on Avinashi Road, Coimbatore, a man named Raja was allegedly beaten to death by hospital staff and police last month. Protesters demand a shutdown of the hospital and swift action.


Coimbatore: A man named Raja was allegedly beaten to death last month at KMCH Hospital located on Avinashi Road, Coimbatore, following accusations of involvement in a theft. Hospital administrators and police officers reportedly participated in the beating.


District police from Peelamedu arrested eight individuals, including hospital authorities and police officers, in connection with the incident. Following the outcry over the incident, a demand for a shutdown and a thorough investigation by the Tamil Nadu Health Department was raised by an activist named Raghunath from Race Course, who submitted a petition to the Coimbatore District Health and Family Welfare Office about ten days ago.



Amidst ongoing protests, Raghunath sat in a dharna outside the Health Services office, criticizing the lack of prompt action despite the passage of over ten days. He accused the health department officials of negligence and demanded immediate intervention in the matter.
