The issue began when the railway administration closed the Vadugapalayam railway gate on the 5th of this month, effectively cutting off road access to 16 villages in the area. This closure particularly affected residents of Muthur, Thalakarai, and Nalikkoundampalaiyam, who were forced to take a 2-kilometer detour to reach their villages.
In response to the closure, local residents and municipal ward members appealed to the Sub-Collector, District Collector, and Pollachi Member of Parliament Eswaransamy, requesting the reopening of the railway gate.
