Coimbatore: An appreciation ceremony was held today (September 23) at NGM College in Pollachi, Coimbatore district, to honor Ma. Yoganathan, a government bus driver and environmental activist who has nurtured lakhs of tree saplings.



The event was attended by Pollachi Member of Parliament K. Eswaran, who delivered a special address and presented a memento to Yoganathan in recognition of his remarkable efforts in environmental conservation.

Pollachi Municipal Chairperson Shyamala Navaneetha Krishnan was also present at the ceremony, lending support to the recognition of Yoganathan's contributions to green initiatives.

Ma. Yoganathan, often referred to as a 'Green Warrior', has gained recognition for his dedication to nurturing and planting a vast number of tree saplings. His efforts at the private college in Pollachi have significantly contributed to increasing the green cover in the area.
