Drunk Farmer Attacked at Congress Party Conference

A drunk farmer engaged in an argument at the Congress party's Anaimalaiyaru project demand conference in Senjeri Puthur, Coimbatore. The situation escalated when his brother attacked him, causing a commotion at the event.

Coimbatore: A conference demanding the implementation of the Anaimalaiyaru project, organized by the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee, took an unexpected turn in Senjeri Puthur near Sulur, Coimbatore district. The event, attended by Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President Selvaperunthagai and other party officials along with members of farmers' associations, was disrupted by an inebriated individual.

As V.M.C. Manoharan, the Coimbatore North District Secretary, was reading out resolutions, a drunk man interrupted, demanding a copy of the resolution. When Manoharan refused, the man challenged, "Did you really fight for the Anaimalaiyaru project? Swear on it!" This led to a heated argument.

Party members present at the meeting attempted to remove the disruptive individual. Suddenly, another person arrived and attacked the drunk man, causing a commotion in the area. Police officers on security duty rescued the intoxicated individual.

Upon investigation, the police identified the drunk man as Suresh, a farmer from Senjeri Puthur area, who is not affiliated with any political party. It was also revealed that the person who attacked him was his own brother.

The incident caused a brief disruption to the conference proceedings. However, the situation was quickly brought under control, and the event continued as planned.
