Police auction unclaimed vehicles

As many as 157 vehicles that were unclaimed and found abandoned were auctioned by the police on Wednesday. The vehicles also included those were used to commit a crime and remained unclaimed by their owners.

Sources said that the police kept the vehicles at the Police Recruit School grounds, off Avinashi Road, on Wednesday. By evening, members of the public had bought 157 vehicles for Rs. 2.60 lakh. There was no taker for a lorry.

Inspected:

The police conducted such auction as and when vehicles piled up at police stations. Prior to the start of the auction, Commissioner of Police, A. Amalraj inspected the vehicles.
