More than 2000 temporary faculties are waiting to be posted as Assistant Professors at TNAU.
Coimbatore: Ph.D. members from various departments of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University staged a sit in protest on Wednesdayalleging against the university registrar and other officials for not providing them the desired posts and also against the deputation from Annamalai University.
Thangamalar, a Ph.D. says that as many as 2,000 members including her have been waiting since 2014 for the Assistant Professor (AP) postings.
“We are currently working as a temporary staff at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and are waiting for the AP post. But all our hopes and efforts are now ruined as the postings which we were waiting for are now to be designated for the deputations from Annamalai University. This is totally unfair and all our requests have fallen on deaf ears.â€
In an attempt to ease their woes regarding the new deputations, the registrar of the varsity assured them that they would get more seats in their interested areas.
However, with the arrival of over fifty member deputations from Annamalai University, the Ph.D holders at TNAU say they are afraid that they would not get their grievances addressed.
Registrar of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University was unavailable for the comments regarding the issue.
