Permanent District Education Officers takes charge in Coimbatore
Coimbatore:Three out of four education districts in Coimbatore district were functioning without district education officers. Yesterday three new officers were appointed to take charge in Coimbatore .
In Coimbatore district, there are four education districts including SS Kulam, Perur and Pollachi. Of these, for the other three education districts, with the exception of SS Kulam, the District Education Officers (DEOs) were not appointed and the principals were the responsible officers.
11 DEOs, who are administrative in the school education sector, were given transfers yesterday. Accordingly, permanent officers have been appointed in Coimbatore and three other education districts except Perur. It is to be noted that after the transfer order, permanent DEOs have been appointed for three education districts in Coimbatore. Geetha, who was the SS Kulam Education District Officer, has been transferred to Vedachandur Education District, Dindigul District. Vijayachandran has been transferred to SS Kulam, who worked as the DEO of Vedachandur.
Similarly, Pandiyarajasekaran, who was the DEO of Coonoor has been transferred to Pollachi Education District. It is to be noted that he has already served as the Principal of Chemmedu Government High School, Coimbatore. Krishnagiri DEO, Kalavathi has been appointed as Pollachi DEO.
