Use labour, not students - Directorate of Elementary school education directs schools against using students to clean school premises

In a circular sent to this effect to all primary and middle schools, it has been ordered to keep the school premises clean and tidy, by engaging the local labor force and not students.


Coimbatore: The Directorate of Elementary school education has directed the school authorities not to engage students in the clean-up activities on the campus.

In a circular sent to this effect to all primary and middle schools, it has been ordered to keep the school premises clean and tidy, by engaging the local labor force.

However, the Elementary School Education department has asked the respective Headmasters to give up the practice of engaging school students to clean up work on campus which was in practice in most schools.

The local labor force and workers under MGNRGS could be used for the purpose to clean up weeds, tree leaves, preventing water logging to check the mosquito menace in schools. the circular noted.
