The scheme allotted Rs. 6000 for each farmer for a year, in three installments. Until now, only the small and marginal farmers were eligible for this scheme.

Those eligible for availing this scheme are owners of lands or organisations, one or more members of farmers in a family, former and present members of political parties, State and Central Government employees and retired professionals who earn pension over Rs. 10,000.
