Employees of Chennai silks and Sree Kumaran Thangamaligai participated in a cleaning drive

Continuous cleaning drives are being conducted all over the country by voluntary organisations,private establishments and corporate, under the Prime Ministers Swachh Bharat Abhiyan scheme. As  a part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission) announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the civic bodies at all cities are vested with the responsibility of working in hand with the NGOs and organisations and spread the word of 'Cleanliness' at ward levels.  

Here in the city, it may be recalled that the employees of Chennai Silks and Sree Kumaran Thanga Maligai cleaned areas at Raja Street, Oppanakara Street, Uppu Kinaru Street, Vysial street and Prakasham bus stop last month on 28th December, 2016



In continuance of this cleaning drive today, 19 employees of the Chennai Silks cleaned Raja Street, Vysial street and Oppanakara Street. Plastic covers, bottles and dumped wastes on the streets and pavements were cleared during this drive. The drive started early this morning before the busy streets catch up to their routines. The streets wore a complete fresh look after the wastes were eliminated. This cleaning drive commenced this morning at 6 am and will last up to 8 am.
