P. Gandhimathi Corporation Commissioner (In-charge) conducted a grievance redressal meeting at the Coimbatore south zone office yesterday.


Coimbatore corporation commissioner (In-charge) hosted a grievance redressal meeting at the Coimbatore south zone office yesterday. People submitted 9 petitions pertaining to their grievances like installation of street lights, removing the garbage from the garbage bins, cleaning the drainage, dog menace among others. The concerned officials were directed to take necessary action.



PRO S.M. Divakar, South Zone engineers, and corporation officials participated in this meeting.

Corporation commissioner (in-charge) P. Gandhimathi today inspected the preparatory works that are carried out at D.B. Raod in R.S. Puram for construction of model roads in Coimbatore. She said, “It has been planned to construct model roads at six places in the city. D.B. Road and T.V.Swamy road in R.S. Puram, NSR road in Saiababcolony, Race course circular road, Sanganur main road and Masakalipalayam road.” she said.



“As part of the road construction works today the works on marking the road for the construction works has begun today in R.S. Puram. The 1.8 kms stretch of D.B. Road and 1.2 kms stretch of T.V. Swamy road have been marked for the works to begin. The works on marking the center median, parking area, and footpath are being carried out. Trenches and ducts for electricity cables, BSNL cables parking bay for vehicle parking, planting native trees, feeding rooms for lactating mothers, medical help center, geo tagging, Wi-Fi, vehicle speed cameras, drinking water dispensers, pollution detection equipment, smart poles with all the facilities, table top level crossing, rain water harvesting structures at equal intervals, ambulance bay will be created along this model roads. The inspection was conducted on the preliminary works that are carried out for the construction of this model road.” she said.



Assistant town planning officer Ravichnadran, Junior Engineer Thiyagarajan, ITDP consultants and corporation officials were present.
