Coimbatore Dist. Collector Sameeran reviews arrangements for special buses during Diwali

The Collector, who reviewed the works for the operation of special buses at the bus stand in saibaba temple area, also enquired about the facilities for the passengers


Coimbatore: With the festival of Diwali just around the corner, many people who have moved to Coimbatore for education or work go back to their native places. To facilitate smooth travel instead of overcrowding, special buses are being operated by the Government in every district during Diwali.

As far as Coimbatore district is concerned, a large number of buses are operated from Mettupalayam Road bus stand and bus stands in Gandhipuram, Ukkadam and Singanallur every year, while special buses are arranged from CODISSIA grounds. At present, special buses are being operated at the main bus stand, Gandhipuram bus stand and Singanallur bus stand.



Coimbatore District Collector G S Sameeran reviewed the arrangements for the operation of special buses at the main bus stand in the Saibaba temple area. He inspected the entire bus stand and enquired about basic amenities for passengers including drinking water facilities.
