As far as Coimbatore district is concerned, a large number of buses are operated from Mettupalayam Road bus stand and bus stands in Gandhipuram, Ukkadam and Singanallur every year, while special buses are arranged from CODISSIA grounds. At present, special buses are being operated at the main bus stand, Gandhipuram bus stand and Singanallur bus stand.

Coimbatore District Collector G S Sameeran reviewed the arrangements for the operation of special buses at the main bus stand in the Saibaba temple area. He inspected the entire bus stand and enquired about basic amenities for passengers including drinking water facilities.
