Coimbatore: The valedictory function of the 235 Tamil Nadu Special Grade II Police Constables was held in the presence of the Additional Director General of Police, Sanjay Kumar who accepted the salute of the parade.

The valedictory function was held at the fourth team premises of the Police Training School in the city's Kovaipudur area on Wednesday.

Speaking at the parade, the Additional Director General of Police (Modernisation of Police) Sanjay Kumar encouraged the trainees saying, "Today, you are leaving after the training and the responsibility has increased. Many years ago, Tamil Nadu Police was on par with the Scotland police.

We are doing well. Act boldly, like the saying goes - A young child will not be afraid (Ilankandru Bayamariyaathu).
The Tamil Nadu Police have been honoured with the President's Best Police Award. Of those who have completed your current training, 72 may be engineers, 27 are married, and the other 205 are about to get married in a few years. So you have to take responsibility for the family.
Similarly, people in the family should know about your work and know your responsibility.
Being part of the police force is a very proud job. In this, we don't get compliments easily, but we know there is respect for the work we do."
