Cancer is considered to be a major threat to human life after cardiac arrest. The number of people who are suffering from cancer has increased globally and in India too. As per latest studies 18 lakh new patients are diagnosed with cancer in India every year. The incidence of cancer is expected to rise and double in the next 5 to 10 years.

About 10 million deaths due to cancer happened across the world last year alone. Screening, diagnosis and treatment of cancer have advanced tremendously. At present 50% of cancer patients are cured of their disease which was just 25% in 1970's.

The increase in curing cancer is due to the increase in awareness about cancer. All types of cancer can be cured if they are detected and treated at an early stage. Cancer treatment involves surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. With the advancements in science and technology treating cancer has become more accurate and safer.
