Two persons from Odisha and one from Sennanur in Coimbatore were arrested at Siruvani Main Road in Perur. The police seized ganja weighing 8.5 kg from them and remanded them to judicial custody.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Police are actively working on the directions of the Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police, V Badrinarayanan toward eradicating peddling and consumption of drugs across Coimbatore district.
On October 27, when the Special Cell Sub-Inspector and Special Cell constables were engaged in an intensive vehicle check on Siruvani Main Road's in the Thanneer Pandhal area, they found ganja being transported on a two-wheeler for sale.
The police arrested three men, identified as Nutan Mittalsiva (33), Sudarslima (58) from Odisha and Jeganathan (38) of Sennanur in Coimbatore, and seized ganja weighing 8.5 kg and a two-wheeler from them. The arrested were then remanded to judicial custody.
The police have urged the public to report on those indulging in unlawful activities on the Coimbatore District Police Control Room number 94981-81212 and Whatsapp number 7708-100100.
