The Centenary Celebration 'Jyothi' arrived at the Coimbatore District Collectorate on Monday. Following this, the Public Health and Preventive Medicine Department took out a rally at the Collectorate.
Coimbatore: The Public Health Department was established in 1922 in Tamil Nadu. Its Centenary celebrations are on at full swing across the State. Moreover, the Centenary Celebration 'Jyothi' which was lit in Chennai on October 10 and being carried to all the districts arrived at the Coimbatore Collectorate on Monday.
Following this, the Public Health and Preventive Medicine Department took out a rally at the Collectorate to mark the Centenary Celebrations of having served the public.
The rally was flagged off by District Revenue Officer, Leela Alex and the District Director of Public Health Department, Aruna.
Carrying banners on hygiene and medicine, the rallyists concluded the rally at the District Health Office in the city's Race Course area.
Nurses and medical staff danced the traditional 'kuthu' to the beat of music to mark the Centenary Celebrations.
