The National Cadet Corps girls also visited the museum after the three-phase trekking exercise in the Nilgiris which began on October 30. The tribal children were also taught on nutrition, education and lifestyle values.
Nilgiris: Training on trekking is being imparted in three phases to the National Cadet Corps Girls in Nilgiris district since October 30.

The first phase of the trekking training was from Ava Hill to Sims' Park in Coonoor across a distance of 4 kms. In the second phase of training, a distance of 8 km was covered from Selas to Pakasuran Hills and from Ubathalai to Kendarai village to arrive at an orchard.

This was followed by the third phase of trekking from Muthorai Palada to Muthunadu Mandu.

At the end of the three-phase training, the NCC girls visited a tribal village and the tribal museum. The tribal children were also taught on nutrition, education and life values.

The NCC Girls who participated in the training were elated and opined that the training provided them with an opportunity to learn about the multi-faceted culture of tribals and people in the Nilgiris district.
