Viral CCTV footage captures leopard dragging pet dog from second floor of house near Tamil Nadu Guest House in Ooty

Fearing the frequent movement of the leopard, people in the area have requested the Forest Department to keep a strict vigil in the area to capture the leopard immediately and relocate it to the dense Nilgiris Forest cover.

The Nilgiris: Close on the heels of a tiger mauling a cow near the erstwhile HPF premises in Ooty, a leopard has reportedly been roaming around the Tamil Nadu Guest House in Ooty.

The leopard was captured on CCTV camera on Thursday grabbing a pet dog from the second floor of a house in the Vestoda residential area, situated behind the Tamil Nadu Guest House. The Vestoda area houses over 300 settlements.

The leopard is seen dragging the pet dog which had been sleeping outside on the second floor of the house down the stairs and then disappearing into the bushes near the Tamil Nadu Guest House. When the owner of the house searched for the dog and could not find the dog, he examined the CCTV footage. To his shock, he saw the footage of the leopard dragging his dog. The footage has now gone viral on social media and created a huge sensation.

Fearing the frequent movement of the leopard, people in the area have requested the Forest Department to keep a strict vigil in the area. They urged officials to capture the leopard in a cage and release it into the dense forest area of Nilgiris.
