Educational convener of Church of South India (CSI) educational institutions appointed

Engineering colleges, B.Ed colleges, Arts and Science colleges and schools more than 200 in number are functioning under the management of Church of South India (CSI) Coimbatore diocese. The convener of the team that manages these educational institutions will be selected once in three years on basis of votes. Dr. A. Chandran was chosen as the convener in the elections for the CSI Diocese that was held on 29th and 30th of January.

Bishop Timothy Ravindar formally inducted Paul Selvin Prabhudas and Dr. A. Chandran into the office. In a press release after taking charge as the convenor Dr. Chandran has said “There is a huge gap between education and employment. Students are currently facing a lot of problem in finding the right job after completing their education. If numbers are to be believed, only 20% of students who pass out of the college in 2020 only will be employed. So we are working towards moulding the students of the various educational institutions that are managed by CSI, employable. We will focus on the overall development of the individual student, thus making them better citizens of the world.”
