Coimbatore Corporation has been honoured with the 'Best Geographic Information Application Award' at the Geosmart India Awards ceremony held in Hyderabad for the Suez 24-hour drinking water supply project being implemented in Coimbatore city.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation bagged the 'Best Geographic Information Application Award' at the Geosmart India Awards ceremony held in Hyderabad for its 24-hour drinking water supply project spearheaded by Suez in Coimbatore. CCMC Commissioner M Prathap received the award.
In 2018, the AIADMK Government chose French firm Suez to distribute drinking water on a 24X7 basis to ensure every household in Coimbatore Corporation limits had continuous drinking water for a period of 25 years by drawing water from Pilloor and Siruvani dams.
Coimbatore Corporation Deputy Commissioner Sharmila and Project Management Advisory Committee Chairman Gopalakrishnan handed over the award to Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner M Prathap. The event was attended by the Suez Project Director, Sangram Patnaik and Sathyanalam, the Founder of the App.
