Ooty locals reel as blanket of frost covers town as temperature dips to 5°C

Normal life has been severely disrupted in The Nilgiris with frost covering areas in Ooty like Thalaikunda, Race Course and Kaandhal in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Vehicles parked on the roadsides, water bodies and green grasslands could be seen covered with a white blanket of frost.



Nilgiris: The Nilgiris district experiences freezing winters from November to February, every year.



Normal routines were disrupted even as a blanket of frost descended in areas like Ooty, Thalaikundha, Race Course and Kaandhal in the early hours of Tuesday morning.



Vehicles parked on the roadsides, water bodies and green grasslands were completely covered with frost that resembled snow.
