School girl injured after getting hit by a tipper truck at Palathurai

Police have registered a case against the driver of a tipper truck even as he hit a a school girl, who was playing on the road side near Palathurai, The girl has been admitted to a hospital.


Coimbatore: Kanishka (12), a girl studying in Class 7 at a government school in Pachapalayam area was hit by a tipper truck in which she sustained severe injuries. She is the Rajendran from Karunjami Goundanpalayam near Palathurai.

When the the girl was playing "gilli thandal" a folk game, near Palathurai-Pachapalayam road with her fellow children. A pssing truck hit her even as Kanishka went to pick up the a stick that fell on the road side.

The tipper truck, had allegedly ran over her legs and the injured girl was rescued by the locals and sent to a private hospital. The doctors are treating the injured girl in intensive care unit.

Madukkarai police have registered a case against Suresh (35), the driver and a native of Thrissur in Kerala, for causing the accident due to overspeeding.
