'If you try to acquire agricultural land to set up an industrial estate in Annur, we will go on hunger strike till death:' BJP State President, Annamalai warns TN Govt.

The BJP State President Annamalai led a protest against the Tamil Nadu Government's plan for acquisition of agricultural land for setting up an industrial estate in Annur.

Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai warned the Government that he will go on a fast unto death if the Government tries to acquire agricultural land in Annur.

The Tamil Nadu Government has issued an order to acquire about 3,000 acres of land for setting up an industrial park in Annur and Mettupalayam Unions of Coimbatore district. But the farmers in the area continue to protest against the acquisition of agricultural land for setting up the industrial park.

Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu BJP led by its Farmers' Wing leader, Nagaraj, held a protest at Annur Othimalai Road against the acquisition of agricultural land.

More than 1,000 people from the BJP's Farmers' Wing participated in the protest.

The Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai who led the protest on Wednesday said, "The Tamil Nadu Government has issued an order to acquire 3,867 acres of land in Annur. They are acquiring agricultural land by lying that it is barren land so as to set up an industrial estate. The DMK does not know how to come directly.

It is their habit to come like robbers. Kamaraj is the only one who understood about farmers. It was he who built many dams and enabled farmers to thrive. But, now idiots are ruling Gopalapuram. Chief Minister M K Stalin should understand that none of the farmers of Annur want to become rich."

"According to the Central Government estimates, 48,195 acres of land has been acquired in Tamil Nadu for setting up industries. But industries were not set up on the acquired land. The land was acquired 20 years ago at Nanguneri in Tirunelveli district to set up an industrial estate. But not a single company has come there thus far. What is the need to suddenly set up an industrial estate in Annur? After the DMK came to power, Tamil Nadu has received foreign investment of Rs. 27,000 crore. They are now invading to trade in water.

The Dravidian model of Government does not need land. They come for the water. G Square, a company of the ruling party, went to Arab countries and bought a plot of land in Perur Chettipalayam area owned by Rekindo for Rs. 578 crore. Half of the DMK goes to G Square and that's what the DMK is working for. They are grabbing the land and destroying the livelihood of the farmers and handing over the land to G Square," slammed the TN BJP President.

He further alleged, "It is the Dravidian Government which gives Rs. 1,000 to the ration card holders and collects the money through TASMAC. Also entire Chennai has been affected by 'Madras Eye.' Without taking steps to curb the spread, the Chief Minister M K Stalin asked the Health Minister if he had seen 'Kazhaga Thalaivan' film.' This is shameful. The crown prince will be crowned. Even if he is 80 years old, if he makes 80 films or spends Rs. 8,000 crore, the crown prince will remain a playboy. He has rented out a khaki shirt to act in the film 'Kazhaga Thalaivan.'

I have worked in the police force for 10 years and have a qualification to wear a khaki shirt. In the film, you can show yourself as the protector of the people. People should understand that the farmers who are protesting in Delhi are doing so after taking the money given by the DMK. The Kerala Government is conducting a survey within Theni district and the Kerala Government took over our 80 acres of agricultural land."

"Chief Minister M K Stalin has taken over the land of the farmers of Theni district, under the illusion of getting the post of Deputy Prime Minister in 2024. Those who visited the Kashi Tamil Sangamam have realised the lie that the DMK has told thus far. The Kashi Tamil Sangamam has emptied the 70-year-old practice of false politics.

The Tamil Nadu Government is sending 200 people to Kashi to compete with the Central Government. Do not send them in the winter, but send them in the hot sun. Prime Minister Modi who is in Delhi is thinking about Tamil Nadu, every day. He has said that he will not allow even a handful of soil to be taken from Annur. If the Government has the courage, let them try to pick up even a handful of sand from Annur. What is happening in Tamil Nadu is not a Government for the people but for the corporates.

If they try to acquire agricultural land in Annur, I will fast unto death. The DMK's allies are slaves. They are scared to see the BJP growing rapidly in Tamil Nadu. 25 BJP MPs from Tamil Nadu will be elected in the next Lok Sabha elections," he reiterated.

Flex banners were put up to welcome Annamalai on his visit to Annur. Posters containing Annamalai's face in the place of mythological figures, with gun in hand, and akin to MGR cracking the whip, were put up with the headline "Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Annamalai."
