First-year UG medicos of Coimbatore Govt. Medical College presented with white coats

Minister for Health and Family Welfare of Tamil Nadu, Ma. Subramaniam and TN Minister of Electricity, Senthil Balaji were present at the function organized by the Department of Medical and Health at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. As part of the event, the Ministers also inaugurated the renovated buildings at CMCH which was done at a cost of Rs.2.5 crore.



Coimbatore: The first-year undergraduate medical students of the Coimbatore Government Medical College were presented with white coats.



The Minister for Health and Family Welfare of Tamil Nadu, Ma. Subramaniam and Tamil Nadu Minister of Electricity, Senthil Balaji were present at the function organized by the Department of Medical and Health at the college premises.



As part of the event, the Ministers also inaugurated the renovated buildings at the Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital which was done at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore as well as the College Tamil Mandram. Similarly, they also inaugurated the renovated Paediatric Emergency Care Unit, Children's Ward, Intensive Surgery Unit and medical equipment at a cost of Rs.70 lakh under the CSR scheme at a cost of Rs.1.80 crore.

Similarly, a CT scan equipment at the Mettupalayam Government Hospital at a cost of Rs. 2.20 crore, a super-intensive care unit at a cost of Rs. 25 lakh and a 12-bed emergency ward building at the Sulur Government Hospital, and modern life-saving equipment were inaugurated by the Ministers through video conferencing.

Later, they also inaugurated the Nurses' Quarters building at Jameen Uthukuli, 4 Veerapandi, V Kaliyapuram, Poorandampalayam, Bodipalayam, M GPudur, Ayyampalayam, Chinna Negamam, sub-health centre buildings at Chandrapuram, Reddiyarur and Aliyar Nagar.



Coimbatore District Collector G S Sameeran, Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Prathap, Coimbatore Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar, Deputy Mayor Vetrichelvan, Coimbatore Government Hospital Principal Nirmala, Government Medical College Principal and professors were present on the occasion.
