Coimbatore: During the centenary celebrations of the Public Health Department which was held at the Government Medical College campus in Coimbatore, Ministers Ma. Subramanian and Senthil Balaji awarded certificates to 20 officials and staff of the Public Health Department who donated blood, and a nutritional kit for 15 pregnant women.

Earlier, they inaugurated the renovated buildings at the Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital, unit buildings in Sulur and Mettupalayam Government Hospitals, primary health centre buildings, sub-health centre buildings and inaugurated the use of newly-purchased medical equipment.

The Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Ma. Subramanian and the Minister of Electricity, Senthil Balaji who participated in the function to present white coats for first-year medical college students also inaugurated the College Tamil Mandram.

Coimbatore District Collector G S Sameeran, Corporation Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar, Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner M Prathap, Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital Dean Dr. Nirmala, Deputy Director of Health Aruna and others were present on the occasion.
