Tirupur South MLA Selvaraj, who once again inaugurated the 'Meendum Manjapai' project at Chithambalam Panchayat next to Palladam, inaugurated various events including a two-wheeler awareness vehicle and the bhoomi pooja of the community hall.
Tirupur: The Tamil Nadu Government which is keen on doing away with the use of plastic bags across the State is also conducting various awareness programs on the use of 'Meendum Manjapai' to create awareness among the people to stop using plastic bags.
Following this, the Chithambalam Panchayat near Palladam in Tirupur district and the private Rotary management joined hands to make Chithambalam Panchayat plastic-free.

Arumugam, a resident of Palladam Rainbow Rotary, travelled across Tamil Nadu on his two-wheeler and launched a campaign across important public places in Tirupur to create awareness about not using plastic bags and using 'Manjapai' instead.
MLA Selvaraj also inaugurated the 'Bhoomi Pooja' for the construction of a community hall with a dining hall which was being done at a cost of Rs.38 lakh at Pulliyappampalayam under Chithambalam panchayat.
Palladam West Union Secretary Krishnamurthy, party functionaries and a large number of people, including the general public were present at the event.
