Decomposed body of 22-year-old youth found in city's Ramanathapuram area

Karthik (22), a native of Anupparpalayam in Tirupur district was found dead with a bottle of poison near his decomposed body in his rented house in Ganeshapuram. Police are investigating the matter.


Coimbatore: Karthik (22), a native of Anupparpalayam in Tirupur district was staying in a rented house in Ganeshapuram, in Coimbatore's Ramanathapuram area.

Since the door of his house had not been opened for the last three days, and a foul smell was emanating from the house on Thursday, neighbours informed the Ramanathapuram police.

When the police reached the spot and broke open the door of the house, they found the youth lying in a decomposed state. Following this, the police recovered the body and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem.

A bottle of poison was also found near Karthik's body. Preliminary investigations revealed that Karthik had visited his parents' house in Tirupur last week and returned angry after a quarrel with them. The Ramanathapuram police have registered a case and are investigating the tragic incident.
