2 men arrested for online lottery sale near Madukkarai in Coimbatore

Johnson (45) of Tirupur district and Zahir Hussain (54), a native of Madukkarai, were arrested by the police for engaging in online lottery sales near the Madukkarai highway in Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: The District police are keeping a close watch to curb the sale of banned lotteries across Coimbatore district. At present, the police are also keeping an eye on the online lottery sales Number 3, since it has increased.

Based on a tip-off that online lottery sales was underway at a private shopping complex on the LNT Highway in Madukkarai, the Madukkarai police inspected the place on Saturday and arrested Johnson (45) from Tiruppur district and Zahir Hussain (54) from Madukkarai who were involved in online lottery sales in the area. The police also seized a notebook and Rs. 2,050 in cash from them, which were kept for the sale of lottery Number 3.
