SDTU union protest demanding to repeal new Motor Vehicles Act

Demanding to repeal of the new Motor Vehicles Act, which was recently implemented by the Tamil Nadu government, Social Democratic Trade Union staged a protest near Ukkadam.



Coimbatore: The members of the SDTU (Social Democratic Trade Union) staged a protest in Ukkadam demanding the repeal of the new Motor Vehicles Act.

Demanding to repeal the new Motor Vehicles Act, they also wanted that the old 44 labour laws to be re implemented.



The protesters also said the Tamil Nadu government should not impose penalties on the workers. It was also urged that the Union government should not implement anti-labour laws.



The protest was led by Abdul Rahim, district secretary of the SDTU union. More than 20 people participated and raised slogans pressing for their demands.
