Coimbatore: With the 2024 Lok Sabha elections approaching, political parties have begun their election preparedness in the right earnest.
When the DMK came to power in the last TN assembly elections, the AIADMK alliance won the Kongu region. In this situation, the contest for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections has gained momentum as the DMK had an upper hand in the last local body elections.
Though the AIADMK-BJP alliance in Tamil Nadu is said to be stable, there may be some surprises as factionalism is high within the AIADMK. At the same time, the BJP, the national party, is keen to gain a foothold in south India, including Tamil Nadu.
The BJP National President JP Nadda is visiting Tamil Nadu today. J.P. Nadda, who is coming to Coimbatore district, will be addressing a public meeting and attending a meeting of polling agents at Mettupalayam in which polling agents of both Coimbatore and the Nilgiris parliamentary constituencies would take part.
